Blogs: Obama Weather, Dracula Therapy & The Happiness Hat
A recap of the latest fashion news for the week of November 9, 2009: Obama, Beth Ditto, Lady Gaga, Lauren McCarthy, Burberry.
1. Obama Weather
Not sure what to wear when you get up in the morning? Let the President help you!
Obama-Weather.com shows you what the Obama would wear depending on how warm or cold it is outside.
Although, we have a feeling he has better fashion sense than this. At least we hope he does. The site is silly and has it’s flaws, but for those of you who don’t want your mother to dress you anymore, it’s there if you need it.

2. Beth Ditto Gossip’s On Fashion
The lovely Beth Ditto had a chance to sit down with Style.com to talk about what else? Fashion!

3. Gaga the Avant Garde
She wasn’t kidding when she said she embodies avant-garde more than anyone else!
Lady GaGa lived up to her fashion forward reputation yesterday at the 13th annual Accessories Council Excellence Awards Gala at Cipriani in NYC.
She definitely accessorized! Love the lace mask. Love the hair. Love the bra and the shoes.

4. Black Face II
Why is blackface suddenly popping up all over the place?
Last month French Vogue featured model Laura Stone painted brown in an eyebrow raising spread. Now, V Magazine has perpetuated the trend, painting a white model dark in a high contrast photo.
Why not just hire a black model??

5. Dracula Therapy
Exciting news for Nicole Kidman and everyone else who loves them some Botox!
There’s a new natural alternative known as Dracula Therapy and all it takes is your own blood and some injections to the face!
This is taking the Twilight/Vampire thing a little too far, don’t you think?
The blood sucking therapy, also known as Stimulated Self Serum skin therapy or S3 for short, is said to stimulate DNA repair, heal scars, and makes the skin feel younger naturally.
So how does it work?
Doctors draw vials of your blood and separate it into red blood cells. Then before sticking it back into your body, the “serum” gets an added boost from vitamins and amino acids.
Sounds painful! And gross!
Would U try Dracula Therapy???

6. The Happiness Hat
This hat, which creator Lauren McCarthy calls the Happiness Hat, will make you turn that frown upside down. And maybe make you scream a few four-letter words in the process!
Here’s how the hat works:
“An enclosed bend sensor attaches to the cheek and measures smile size, a servo motor moves a metal spike into the head inversely proportional to the degree of smile. Through repeated use of this conditioning device you can train your brain to smile all the time. The device runs on Arduino.”
That sounds painful! This seems like a cruel and unusual punishment. What do you think?

7. Burberry’s fight against pet stores
Burberry has taken legal action against the pet store chain, Pets At Home, for copyright infringement. Apparently, the pet supplies store was hawking dog coats and baskets using a plaid pattern that imitated Burberry’s signature check a little too closely, and so the luxury clothier filed suit. Pets At Home has since removed the items in question from their 250 retail locations, but no legal verdict has yet been reached.
